My Kinsmen Are Accursed! Romans 9.1-5

Translation Notes:

(Romans 9:1-5 NA27INT).

Translation: 1 I am speaking truth in Christ, I am not lying, while my conscience confirming to me in the Holy Spirit, 2 that grief to me is great and pain in my heart is unceasing. 3 For I could wish myself to be a curse away from Christ in behalf of my brethren, my fellow countrymen according to the flesh, who are Israelites, of whom the adoption and the glory and the covenants and the giving of the law and the service and the promises, 5 of whom the fathers, and from whom the Christ according to the flesh, the one being over all, God blessed unto the ages, amen.

V.1 "συμμαρτυρούσης μοι τῆς συνειδήσεώς" is a genitive absolute.

V.2 "μοι" is a dative of possession.

"ἀδιάλειπτος ὀδύνη τῇ καρδίᾳ μου" is an anarthrous adjective-noun construction. First predicate postion.

V.3 "ηὐχόμην" is a tendential or 'desiderative' imperfect. Potential indicative (Wallace, 451). Verbs of obligation, wish, or desire, followed by an infinitive.

V.4 "ὧν" is a genitive of possession.

Welcome to the TBI Blog!

Brothers,

Thanks so much for joining. I can't wait to learn from you all. Let the posting begin!

Also, this may actually be a good place to discuss those Perspectives reading responses that we never get to.

And, here is one other thing. If anyone knows the e-mail of any former TBI Apprentices who might like to be a part of the blog, please e-mail them to me.
